Celebrating another great event hosted by the Alumni Affairs team
Who am I?
Studied English Literature in undergrad because I love a good narrative. Then studied marketing, corporate social responsibility, and social entrepreneurship to become an effective change maker.
Worked with orphans and taught small business practices to widows in Nairobi. Also adopted an elephant.
Received a certificate of commendation from the City of Los Angeles for my work with the American Red Cross.
Built a fashion blog. Wrote 200+ posts, won a couple of awards and met some phenomenal people.
Worked in startup, nonprofit, higher education, for-profit.
Moved to the midwest to try winter and double down on potatoes. Got cold, moved back to the west coast. Proud to have been elected to represent a few thousand of my neighbors in Ann Arbor while I was there.
My community clients have included cancer patients, data scientists, influencers, professors, people who care about money, people who care about planet, and many more. Built community everywhere.
What I Do
Community Builder: Ainsleigh Burelle said it best. "Community builders operate at the nexus of operations, marketing, and business development."
Ideator: My favorite phrase is “what if…” My second favorite phrase is, “how can we make it happen?”
Maximizer: Often my job is to take what exists and make it better. Sometimes that’s not my job, but I do it anyway. Refinement is in my nature.
Connector: Breaking down barriers between people, finding connections between strategic plan goals
Finisher: Bottom line, you have to deliver. Why do so many people miss this? After you deliver, review your metrics and workflow.
